Yeah, so its my BDay on Fri, w00t. I turn 18 which means i get pr0n legaly now . . .

My site is in remission right now due to me changing hosts, and then changing shortly after. The new design is up in the air, as someone is supposed to be helping me but isnt so im being forced to go to plan B. Plan B is retro fitting the slightly nicer looking theme to the site so that it looks better, it will be hard but I can have it up shortly.

The next server move will be transparent, but the second will be more hazardes. The new site will have all the files hosted in the same way, which is better anyways.

The author's backend is closer to being done, as the second server will allow phpuploads.

In Clan news, The CS server might go down or not depending on wether or not we wish to pay for it anymore.

Ok so the framework for the site is done, and all thats left is getting a new theme or atleast trying to get this one to look good again. After thats done the new site will be good and can go up immeadiately.

As for the backend, I need to be able to upload 50MB files and as my current 2 server setup doesnt allow it, I have to try to wait and see if I can get the better of the two hosts to give me a better deal.

As for the themes. . . dont make me laugh. As soon as I have the site the way it should be, then I will consentrate on those. But as im awake for only 16 out of 24 hours, with anywhere from 8 to 12 hours being taken by work. That leaves me with 8 to 4 hours, 1 to get ready for work, 1 to get back and fourth from work and 1 hour to work on my online class.

Inother words i have anywhere from 1 to 5 hours to work on the 4 projects.

Have you ever planed for something - and I don't mean a "hope" situation, this is more of a "has to" - that all your other plans depend on, only to have it not come true? That's the state I'm in. I thought I would have all this time to work on the projects I wanted to get done but as it turns out, I have little more than 3 - 4 hours each day to do what ever I want, darn work, the pay is good though. This is opposed to 4 - 5.5 hours I had while in school. Oh but I do get a half day tomorrow . . . yeah, so I can work on my online class I need to complete. Let's just say I'm frustrated.

At the moment I have 4 projects:

Laser123454321.com - The Theme ENGiNE A.K.A. The Admin interface
FFV: STEPMANIA (26.9% completed)
EARTHBOUND feat SM A.K.A. "I don't have a title yet" (0.05% completed)

The most work I've done is for The Site, because that's what everybody that complains, complains about. I was able to get a hold of the guy that did the mock of the new design and he was able to help me. He added a background image as well as help me redesign the layout a little better. Unfortunately he only helped with one facet. The Site has two main parts: 1) the interface ( what the visitor sees and interacts with ) and 2) the engine ( what tells the site what it should display ).

Part 1 is about 89.4% complete and Part 2 is 36.8% done. I can start to let yall see what part 1 looks like, any comments would be appreciated.

Well actually my feet, but that's another story. I FINALLY went to GameWorks at Grapevine Mills Mall in . . . Grapevine, Texas. ( that's a streach ) Anyways, I met someone who was playing Stepmania, more specifically, DDR 9: RED. But It was the old version. "Hey, you should update that to the latest version." To which he responded, "I don't want to, I just got this one working.". Then he proceeded to turn away and close his laptop and continue talking with his friends. Yep. That's the thanks the Mass populous gives me.

Anyways, lets talk about GameWorks. I shall compare gameworks to Dave&Busters of my local vicinity.

Special Notes	Machine was precise even after extended play. Players were courteous and the awesome players helped the weaklings (me) and took pity on me See some of the best talent in Dallas. DDR USA machine right next to the DDR EX machine for the beginners. Costs a min of $5 to play. Had to search for a Drink Can tend to be crowded.	Machine was set to get harder as the player advanced in stages. Most players don't know how to play. The most played song is "We will rock you" . . . yeah. that's what the DDR EX machine is for. No min, but a $1 card fee is charged for those needing a power card. Next to the bar. usually can jump right on.	eh . . .

Why would I go to the lameass D&B one? Well for starters, its 2 min from my house.
While I would now go to the Grapevine one every now and then, The location and the fact that my Gold Power card reduces the price of the game to $1, make me go to the Dave and Busters one more often.

In SITE news: After this Sunday, I will finish coding all that needs to be done for my Theme Engine. It wont look pretty, but that's what the graphics guy is for.

And all was good in the land of digital information as Laser was released from the prision known as "School". All theatrics aside I am rejoycing today and dreading Saturday. SAT. Stands for two things in my case. I am desprately trying to study for the test that is impossible to study for. I'm not worried.

I've been working hard on getting the CS server for my CKOPE clan situated. Everything should be working and all it needs now is to get the stats directed at it. All is well.

I just got my MX 518 and am Loving every min of having it. Its the one with 1600 DPI rez and can change rez on the fly. The MX 518 is FREAKING AWSOME!!!!!

I should be getting the PC Gamers Keyboard in about 2 days. IT WILL BE BADASSS.

I'm barely on the computer anymore, and its not that I don't want to be. It's that I dont have the time anymore. Hell, I had to pre-write this entry so that I could get it in.

The true source of the problem is a rare disorder called acadamia . . . *rimshot*. The end of the school year is approching and so are the tests. The state standardized test, the TAKS test, dosent even phase me anymore. The true terror is the AP tests which could save me hundreds of dollars in tuition and supplies in colledge. After these test will come my summer project: My Very Own Metal DDR Pad.

None of that wood crap for me! Not when you have access to a sheetmetal shop complete with laser. Then you dont even consider using wood. And not only will it have lights, but it will be able to seperate in to three parts for easy transportation. More Info later, but once I get the plans finalized, I will release them to the public or sell them, whatever comes first. And if all goes well, I'll try to do a BM IIDX controller.

I've finally found the last part of the problem to completing the theme engine and will have a demo for the theme makers to see what it will look like. Its coming along great and I will try to get this up at the same time as the ReDesign.

BTW, when the ReDesign hits, the server will go down from anywhere between 30 min and 2 hours. I will try to warn ya'll before it happens.

Sorry for not blogging for a week. My spring break was filled with work, projects, and of course, Bemani. This however is not the reason for this post, infact this post has no reason.

Lets start off with some news. The Contest is finnaly starting to pick up some pace and is showing intrest. The Entries so far are better than anything I could design on my own. If you would like to enter just look at the post below.

I aquired the KB vol 1 soundtrack from a friend and the artist of the song above struck me. I went to AllOfMp3.Com and purchased his entire album. It is teh awsomeness in CD form. I would love to see some stepfiles of his work.

Speeking of battles, I've been in one for a long time. The battle for time. No I dont have a fatal illness, or have forseen my death. I am battling for time to finish my theme FFV:StepMania. With the end of the School year approching, my time has been serverly limited. Now I only have time on the weekends to even think of working on it. I just hope that I can get it done before . . .

This day is the first day back from my Spring Break. Rather than bore you with what I did, I'll just tell you what I got accomplished. I started working on my Final Fantasy V theme for stepmania again and now I have some help. The Site is tip-top and in working order.

Now I want to talk about my Design Contest. It may or may not be doing so well, and the problem is that I cant be sure of what may come of it. Why am i doing a redesign contest? Well look at the site now. Thats the extent of my design ability. I want to have a redesign so that I can Implement some new features:

1) Themer Access: Any themer at any time can upload changes to the files in their theme and the server will automaticly build a new version of the SMZIP. Now Updates should take only a few miniutes.

2) RSS Feed: It will announce when new themes are up for grabs on my site. Its easy and fast.

3) Theme Hosting Engine: The Current engine works great for the themes and i plan to extend it all the way to the other files I host.

Some times I'm reminded of what a game can do to a person.

Games can take your sleep, your strength, your mind, your soul, your life. . . .your girlfriend. But worse than all would be the game becoming your life. That is the state I find my self. What game could be evil enough to entangle a man's soul? Not one game. A game series.

Bemani.

Many of you have fallen victim to this at one time or another. The few that did not escape this terrible fate are now slaves to Konami; myself included. But I find the fact that someone of powerful mind, such as myself, was taken so easily to be . . . well . . . confusing. The main source of this draw comes from the evil that is Dance Dance Revolution. I was taken in, and then conformed to it's will. DDR is me, and I am DDR. Just the very fact that you are reading this, on my DDR THEME HOSTING WEBSITE is proof of my devotion. Am I holding a pity-party? Maybe. Do I want a medal? Yes. Is that my point? Not to my knowledge. But what I think my point is is that this game has given and taken so much from me. When I started playing, I found that my Counter-Strike skill slowly decreased as did my GTA massive killing skill. Then, when I was forced by bug to play CS again, I sucked. Then, slowly, my skill increased and I was playing just as good as I was before StepMania. After fixing the bug, I returned to SM to find that I sucked again. I couldn't even AA Sakura on Heavy. It was bad. I started to play again and now I can AA Max Forever. Now, more dedicated than ever, I take the next step into the Bemani madness that swells over me even now. I will take a trip to Richardson Square Mall, to play . . . Beatmania IIDX. Will I suck? Most definitely. Does it matter? Not in the least. I am a slave to DDR, Konami, and Bemani . . . and I love it.

In other news:
I started to work on the Backend some more and helped Don out more. Cyber-Knights, for the uninitiated, is a LAN Center here in The Colony, Texas. Well . . . was a LAN Center. In December of 2004, It was forced to shut down due to costs. Don has cited 3 reasons for the costs.

1) The building was so old that the AC and Heating units were in need of Replacement. Upon inspection by certified personnel ( Guy who works on AC/Heating ), he found that the units were using 3 to 4 times the normal amount of electricity used by units the same size. But since it would cost too much to replace it, Don was stuck.

2) The T1 line, while awesome, was costing him $600 a month. Google the prices of T1 if you don’t know already, and you will find that this is grossly over priced.

3) Rent, a necessary evil, was $1,700 a month. This was over inflated by the landlord who wanted a bigger cut than CK could handle.

There is a fourth reason, which is really just a conglomeration of all the previous reasons. Cyber-Knights had to support Don and Itself. Now with Don working in a full time job, Cyber-Knights can be reborn. To help Don in his struggle, I have started work on a Comment form for his website. At its completion, you'll be able to go to Cyber-Knights.net and fill out a form with your name and a comment stating how much you want Cyber Knights to come back. But why, doesn’t Don want to start CK again anyways? Good question me, the reason he wants this form is because he has been talking to a bunch of investors, and what they want to see is an established clientele. If Don can show them that, CK could be open by the end of May. So check that link often and see if the form is there.

The DNS to my server was down today, so there was a short period where my site was inaccessible. But, all is well now. The server never usally gives me problems, and today was the first that I've had. Today was just a wierd day server wize. The internet in general was messed up. Now I don't want to get off on a rant here, but when things seem messed up and you find out that your'e not the problem, you start to worry. Think of having a car overheat when its turned off. Theres nothing you can do and no way to solve it. But then the internet throws you a curveball and reverses it's state, you see the solution to the problem. I found out that the server was working, but since the DNS was down there was no way for people to access my files. I wasnt the cause of the problem, nor could I fix it, but I had the solution. This is always a problem, but not as much as when you think you know the solution to a problem that dosent even exist. My computer's Graphics Card ( ATI RADEON 9800 ) kept crashing on me. I thought it was the drivers. Instead, it was overheating ( the fan caught some dust and tore it's self off ). So what it boiled down to was me trying to find drivers that would keep my card from overheating. I ended up buying a PCI mount fan and that solved my problems but I didnt really know what was wrong. The internet has given me clarity in it's vast ammounts of knowlege. The same internet that is home to "LIEK OMGH" is home to "e^pi=-1^-i". I just find that this is a complete paradox in nature. Its like going to the library to find Websters Dictionary cramed in with copys of Learn to draw Cars. Both are out of place but whos to say what is in place. Of course thats just my opinion, I could be wrong. . . . damn Dennis Miller.

Just wanted people to know that I am getting back into blogging. Alot of stuff has happened . . . . but I dont have time to get into it now. If I can keep this up to date, then good for me. I just held a Lan-party and i am exausted. I'm supprised i'm even able to write this.
We played Call of Duty and Unreal tournament 2004 for about 8 hours then played DDR for about 1 hour.

But nothing i've held holds a candle to what goes on at Cyber-Knights.

Cyber-Knights is a Lan-center in The Colony, Tx and has some of the best tournaments in the aera. The place has so many games it's crazy. You can go to their website and see what im talking about.

In Virtual Visions news, Zhek is making avatars and sigs for people involved in the project.

I fixed/enabled 2 features today in Zhek's Trance Machina 5 BETA
1) Changed how TM5 handles banners while loading stuff for ScreenGameplay
2) Enabled and fixed the Song Progress bars during game play

In Virtual Visions news:
In order to stay in line with the TOS ( and because im nice ) I added a banner linking to the host. I also made the redirect page work properly; It delays for 10 secs to show the Banners and then sends visitors to the Wiki.

Well this is what i'll be working on for the next few weeks, trying to set up the wiki for this project

First off, this is largely the idea of jammitch! and me, but we really need the support of the community on this. It's a multi-tiered project with elements coming from many parts of our expertise, and I think it's a topic we all know and enjoy well enough.

Ok, I'm going to do a community project.(yah!) Basically the idea is to make something even bigger then foonmix. By making it a large community project we bring in a lot of talent, and by dividing it by interest and talent, we filter out and get a diverse end result.

General theme for this is a vdeo game mix. Any song in a game (including "real" songs) or a remix/variant there of are fair game, though straight off, we're banning anything from DDR, or any other music game (games that are featured both a dance/music game and another game should be debated on the intended mix used.) A regulating committee will help make sure we keep these songs original and diverse. jammitch! has suggested one song per game, but this may discourage more original entries getting because the one popular song a game has gets all the support. Basically anything with enough interest should be admitted, with an eye towards diverse and original (and STEPPABLE) potential. I'd like a small group of people to regulate it (with myself and jammitch!, since we thought of it, being already elected ^_^ but diverse enough and including people from both DDRMX and BS (Including regular users if possible) so we get a good group.

The project should comprise several elements:
- Songs - Songs should be selected based on interest, and we'll divide the cutting job down to people who are interested and have known experience at it. Together as a community we'll vote on common values (BPM, pauses, etc.)

- Steps - Steps should be divided up again, on interest, I think we should favor people with known talent, but the critical issue is that interest exists, if someone HATES doing beginner steps, we don't make him do it, or if someone HATES X or Y song, we don't give it to them. We count interest up, and if there's more then one person per song (or difficulty, probably) then we go for some sort of randomized method of making sure we get a fair share to everyone who wants to go in for it, and by dividing by steps, we keep each song fresh and original. I'm all for including keyboard steps (I'm aiming for SM's Edit steps) and ItG as challenge. DWI does not support edit steps, but we'd just move the edit steps down to challenge difficulty as it doesn't support mines either way. I'm aiming for complete sets of steps, if at all possible, but we'll see what demand can bring. Steps probably shouldn't be shared, I think that if we go "blind" with it, we can get LARGELY varied steps... If interest is high enough, we could relink mp3/ogg and graphics to additional steps (maybe redo graphics to desiganate an alternate set.)

- Banners & Backgrounds - Have interested parties divided up to provide one half of banner/backgrounnd pairs, again divided by interest and randomized to give a fair share to everyone that wants to try. I'd like to keep a general consitancy, but only quality wise, so long as they're decent I don't care who does them or how they did it. I talked to jammitch! about it, and he made the good point that by using different artists on each half, we make sure unique banners are made, rather then simple background crops/rearrangements. I'm personally in agreement for it, though we may lose coherency...

- Courses - Thanks to ItG support we have a huge amount of replayability available, given the community aspect, we can do pretty much ANY amount of these, and there's no limit on what we can do with these.

- BGAnimations - While movies could be possible, I think a lot of people would want to do music videos, which I don't think we should do. Videos also tend to be very large, and I think a more reasonable use would be BGAnims. While they aren't cross compatable, I think we could work out getting some made for both programs. If we do the videogame

- Theme - Last to do, we'll get the details on this when we have an idea of what we want to do. I'm not aiming to do something amazing, though if I had a high enough interest in it I'd go for it. I'm thinking of doing a contest styled theme (ie, Sim Community Community Theme #1).

I think like DDROSC, we could have a contest for the mix banner.

Any details you'd like to clarify, ideas, suggestions, criticisms, are welcome. Interest/ability to perhaps regulate this are also welcome. I'd appreciate your support and look forward to seeing what we can do as a community. Listing your previous work helps to make sure we can use you with what you know and are capable of doing, and of course, your interest, NO ONE should be doing something they don't like.

There is currently no set date on this and I don't plan on having one till we're able to gauge interest. We'll nominate songs when we're settled. After songs are selected (and I'm aiming for a high number with good diversity) we'll settle on default values for BPM, pauses. If we're unable to get a consensus on these values, but we're able to at least settle on a few sets, we may run alternate versions of single songs with different values and steps, which I think might be interesting to have (increasing diversity even further). We'll obviously have to cut songs down to, and we'll see if we can't get enough interest in making sure we get a diverse set of these people, who cuts the song will make a very significant deal on steps afterwards. Next, steps will be made, and again, I'd like to divide EACH difficulty based on interest and randomize it to give everyone a fair shot. Regulation should ensure we get quality steps, but WHO makes them should be unbiased and random. Next (or during, rather) we'll assign artists again randomly to do banners, and another set to do backgrounds. So long as interest exists, I don't mind people getting to do multiple jobs on multiple songs, but I'd like to make sure each song has only one element coming from any one person. BGanimations to tie the songs down, and if at possible, just Videogame related ones in general are what I'd like to see. Next, courses, and here I don't mind any person entering more then one, and in fact, I encourage as many courses as possible. So long as they don't suck, of course. Banners on these can be handled the same way as everything else. Courses I think we can do as a community and arrange themed courses based on voting, but I'd like some individual entries as well, and in fact, more courses then songs wouldn't be a bad idea given how easy they are to make. Lastly, the theme, but I have no solid ideas on what this should be, other then a general contest styled theme. If we have interest, we'll go full out, otherwise I'll just see if we can't knock together a community contest theme (whether I have to do it myself or what, I don't care, so long as it's there. It doesn't have to be the best, it's the mix itself I think that will be the best part of this.)

Sim support should be equal, if at all possible, include support at each step for DWI. I know not everything will carry over, but I don't feel being biased about it is worth doing. No reason to disregard a large part of either side of the community.

Currently I know jammitch! is interested. I discussed it with him, and he's definitely my bounce off ideas guy, but if anyone else has interest in this and suggestions, PLEASE, feel free to send 'em my way. Nothing should be TOO solidified at this point, but I've settled on some things to ensure some concreteness so we can get this done.

Let's kick ass on this guys ^_^ I'm going to get this done one way or another, but I'd love support from anyone who's interested, even if it's just, "I'd like to see this" but if you'd like to enter, all the better... ^_^
